Get Excited for the New Acura Integra Type S
The brand new 2023 Integra has just been released, but there’s already buzz going around about a Type S variant of everyone’s favorite sports car. While there’s not a lot to go off yet, there is much that we can speculate with what we know so far. The Delray Acura team is here to break it all down for you.
Expect a Bold New Look from the Acura Integra Type S
The new Integra already boasts a fashion statement everywhere you go, but the Type S line is known for its heart-stopping framework. The upcoming Integra Type S will likely be sculpted with aggressive front and rear fascia, much like the other Type S vehicles in this lineup. The most recent Type S vehicles also come with a sporty black grille, gloss black accents, and large exhaust intakes. In order to keep consistent branding, the Integra Type S will likely share all of these exterior features.
Anticipate More Power from the Acura Integra Type S
An enhanced powertrain in the Integra Type S is a given. Currently, the Integra comes with a 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine at 200 horsepower, which was based on the engine in the latest Honda Civic. If Acura follows the pattern, the Integra Type S could have a similar engine to the upcoming Civic Type R, which is almost guaranteed to skyrocket well past 300 horsepower. Some aspects that have yet to be revealed include whether the transmission will be manual or automatic, although a dual-clutch would be a nice middle ground. We also wouldn’t be surprised if Acura included their patented Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) into the mix, as they’ve already done with many of their other vehicles.
The Iconic Type S Interior
We will be shocked if the interior of the Integra Type S doesn’t look anything like other Type S cars, just because the black sporty leather design with colored accents and badges all around is what gives off that iconic feel. But no matter what Acura comes up with for this much-anticipated sports car, we’re sure to love it regardless! However, red contrast trimming and a dynamic digital gauge cluster are definitely on our wish list.
Stay Updated with Delray Acura!
With the current Integra starting at around $30,800, we expect the upcoming Integra Type S to be closer to $40,000, which is how the new Civic Type R is anticipated to be priced. If you think about the incredible boost of power that the Integra Type S will come equipped with, along with all of the other iconic Type S upgrades, that’s not a bad price! However, nothing is set in stone just yet. These are all calculated guesses as made by the sports car enthusiasts at Delray Acura, and we’ll continue to keep our eyes and ears open for any solid updates as they come our way!
