There are actually two engine types to choose from for the MDX, both of them having different towing capacities. The first is a standard 3.5L engine in the rear-wheel drive model with 290 horsepower and a 3,500-pound towing capacity. The upgraded 3.0L Turbo engine with 355 horsepower and SH-AWD is able to tow up to 5,000 pounds! And like the RDX, the MDX is also a 10-speed auto for smoother and more controlled handling.
