At the 104th Running of The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this past June, the Acura Integra Type S DE5 established a benchmark performance, reaching the 14,115-foot peak nearly 15 seconds ahead of the prior front-wheel drive record.
With two-time Formula Drift champion and HRC US driver Dai Yoshihara at the helm, the Integra Type S DE5 completed the grueling 12.42-mile mountain ascent in 10:33.174 to claim sixth place in the Time Attack 1 division. Yoshihara's run surpassed the former front-wheel drive record of 10:48.094 set in 2018 by Nick Robinson, a Honda R&D engineer driving an Acura TLX A-Spec.
Rigorous motorsport events such as The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb have continually validated the engineering principles of Acura Precision Crafted Performance since the brand launched in 1986. Celebrating 16 straight years of Pikes Peak competition, the Acura team has demonstrated exceptional consistency, capturing 12 first-place division finishes, accumulating over 30 podium standings, and setting several track records. In 2025, approximately 85 percent of Acura vehicles sold in the United States were built stateside using a mix of domestic and internationally sourced components.
