The Integra Was Named One Of The Safest Sports Cars Of 2023
Is it possible to have a safe sports car? When it comes to performance driving, safety is especially important. Even though you should pay mind to how you drive at all times, those who ride for sport are more prone to danger than those who are just going to work or running errands. If you’re one of these thrill-seekers, you’ll be glad to know that the new Acura Integra was named one of the safest sports cars of 2023! Delray Acura has all of the details. MotorBiscuit’s Criteria For Safest Sports Car
Since its foundation in 2019, MotorBiscuit has quickly become a reliable source of all the latest car news in just a few short years. Many auto enthusiasts take their word as law, and that’s why we’re ecstatic to find that the new Integra has been deemed one of the safest sports cars of 2023. This wouldn’t be the first time that the Integra has earned recognition, a good example being MotorWeek’s Best Sport Sedan award. But how did MotorBiscuit select its winners? A lot of it has to do with how well they passed the safety tests administered by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
IIHS Safety Tests Explained
What does the IIHS safety testing entail? As you may have guessed, there are a lot of crash tests involved that cover various angles, and the Integra passed them all with flying colors. And with driver-assist technology becoming standardized, these features are included in the testing as well. The Integra received a good score in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian preventive technologies. In addition to excelling in these categories, the Integra also got points for including a reliable LATCH system for child safety and a dependable headlight system. In total, the results earned it an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award. Needless today, this ride is hardly a death trap despite being a sports car.

What Else Can the Integra Do?
Just because the Integra is safe enough to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award doesn’t mean it had to hold itself back as a powerful performance vehicle. It still comes with an impressive 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine capable of 200 horsepower with 192 lb.-ft. of torque and 6500 RPM. You can choose between a CVT system or the 6-speed manual transmission with Rev-Match Control and a limited-slip differential for more precision on a lightweight build for maximum performance. You can also utilize Adaptive Dampers and a sport mode feature for an enhanced driving experience. Pretty soon, we’ll be seeing an even more powerful Type S variant for the Integra which we can only speculate will continue to gain recognition by the IIHS and auto news outlets.
