Honda driver Kakunoshin Ohta, a Honda Formula Dream Project graduate, is set to compete in the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the premier GTP class. Ohta will join the Acura Meyer Shank Racing team, driving the Curb Agajanian No. 93 car. He will be behind the wheel of the Acura ARX-06, a vehicle designed and developed by Honda Racing Corporation USA. Ohta is slated to participate in three races, making his debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Kakunoshin Ohta, a rising talent, received a scholarship from the Suzuka Circuit Racing School (now Honda Racing School Suzuka) in 2018. After completing the Honda Formula Dream Project (HFDP), Ohta began his professional racing career in 2023, competing in Japan's Super Formula and the SUPER GT GT500 class.
In 2024, Ohta began intensive training at the HRC US facility in Indianapolis, utilizing the new Driver-In-The-Loop Simulator to prepare for his IMSA debut. His strong performances in Japan earned him a spot in the 2025 season lineup.
Ohta's entry into the 2025 season is part of Honda Racing Corporation's ongoing initiative to develop and support emerging racing drivers on a global stage. The company is committed to fostering young talent both in Japan and internationally.
