Acura MSR Performance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Accommodating more than 250,000 spectators, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway stands as a premier destination for motorsports. On September 20, 2026, this historic oval and road course configuration played host to the Battle on the Bricks event, proudly sponsored by TireRack.com. Seasoned driver Tom Blomqvist secured a fifth-place finish in the intensely contested race. Blomqvist joined the MSR roster in 2022 following numerous stellar performances across international circuits, including serving as a primary driver at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and standout campaigns in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Piloting the number 60 Acura MSR entry, Blomqvist demonstrated exceptional car control and focus throughout the competition. The ARX-06 prototype showcased striking green-and-orange livery set against a black chassis. Propelling this high-performance machine is an advanced twin-turbocharged engine paired with a rear electric motor. Traditional Acura emblems adorned the roof and hood in crisp white, complemented by discreet Michelin branding on the rear bodywork, reflecting the vehicle's reliance on elite Michelin rubber and forged alloy wheels. Blomqvist capitalized on a pole position start to lead the initial laps. However, subsequent pit strategy and driver rotation shifted positions when competing teams utilized alternate fuel strategies, placing Colin Braun fourth during his stint. Although post-race feedback indicated challenges maintaining pace over extended green-flag runs, the team secured a top-five result.
